Mama Atelier started the way most real things do: a problem no one was solving. Gen Z buyers wanted bags that said something real — not a logo, not a fashion week knockoff. Something made with intention, at a price that didn't require a credit card.

We make our bags in Lagos. Every design starts as a sketch, becomes a sample, and gets carried around the city for weeks before we call it done. The stitching, the hardware, the canvas weight — all of it gets decided by how the bag feels after a full day out, not how it looks in a lookbook.

Why Lagos?

Because it's where we are, and because making things here matters. Lagos has a generation of designers, makers, and craftspeople who don't need to copy anyone. Mama Atelier is part of that wave — Nigerian-made, built for an international market that's ready to receive it.

What we make

Everyday carry bags: crossbodies, slings, hip bags, totes, and backpacks. Each one designed for how Gen Z actually moves — between transit, work, campus, and going out. We price between $65 and $140 because we think you shouldn't have to choose between quality and authenticity.

The name

Mama, because every good thing comes from somewhere real. Atelier, because this is made work — thought out, crafted, not mass-produced.
